The Seahawks first practice report of Week 17 is out and it includes one player not previously noted by the team or head coach Pete Carroll.
J.R. Sweezy (concussion) was added to Wednesday's list of Seahawks who did not participate in practice. The team's starting right guard joins tight end Luke Willson (concussion), defensive end Michael Bennett (toe), and strong safety Kam Chancellor (pelvis) as players who sat out to open the final week of the regular season. Running back Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) has already been ruled out and will miss a seventh straight game as he continues to recover from surgery, but Carroll said he thinks Lynch will be able to return in time for the playoffs.
Left tackle Russell Okung (calf), who missed this past weekend's game against the St. Louis Rams, practiced in limited fashion on Wednesday, as did defensive tackle Jordan Hill (toe), who has not played since Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Also practicing on a limited basis for the Seahawks on Wednesday was defensive end Cliff Avril (back).
Carroll provided injury updates on Lynch, Willson, Bennett, Chancellor, and Okung during his Wednesday press conference, which you can read all about right here.
