Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Tuesday, June 28 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Baldwin Among NFL's Best in Slot

Sam Monson at ProFootballFocus.com identifies the NFL's 10 best slot players across both sides of the football and Doug Baldwin comes in at No. 4 behind Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (No. 1), New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (No. 2), and Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (No. 3). Not bad company for the Seahawks wide receiver.

On Baldwin lining up as Seattle's inside receiver, Monson writes:

Doug Baldwin showed last season the kind of production slot receivers can put up, beyond simply catch volume. Despite playing 80 percent of his snaps as a slot receiver, he notched 14 touchdowns, which tied for best in the NFL among all receivers. He caught 78.8 percent of the passes thrown his way, dropping just two passes all season, and was more than just a short-gain receiver, averaging 13.7 yards per reception. Baldwin has quietly become one of the league's best receivers, but we just don't admit it because he is dismissed as "just a slot WR."

Despite being known best for his work in the slot, Baldwin has also produced as an outside receiver for the Seahawks when he's been asked to play that role. In an April appearance on the radio, Baldwin said he's happy wherever Seattle lines him up.

"I enjoy both of them," Baldwin said. "I enjoy playing outside, I enjoy playing in the slot. The way our offense is built, a lot of the targets go to the inside guys, so I'm not complaining too much. But at the same time, I'd love to expand my role in any way possible. But ultimately, the goal is to help the team in any way that I can, so whether that's playing outside or inside, it doesn't matter. If they want me to go play running back, I'd be happy to do that."
