Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Thursday, January 12 — about your Seattle Seahawks:
Wilson Takes Most Valued Athlete In Social Award
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was listed as GeekWire’s Most Valued Athlete in Social Media for the second year in a row. Athletes were ranked "using a proprietary algorithm that evaluates all of their social activity throughout the past year." The site looks at reach (fans, followers, impressions, etc.), engagement (likes, shares, retweets, etc.) and conversation (positive and negative mentions) from athletes.
Six of the top-10 athletes are NFL players, including Wilson's teammate, cornerback Richard Sherman. Here's how the list panned out:
Russell Wilson
Odell Beckham Jr.
J.J. Watt
Rory McIlroy
Conor McGregor
LeBron James
Tiger Woods
Richard Sherman
Tom Brady
Rob Gronkowski
Wilson has 2,871,821 followers on Twitter and roughly 2.8 million on Instagram.
