LOS ANGELES -- Pregame thoughts and comments from Seahawks GM John Schneider on 710 ESPN Seattle before the team's Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

1. (On today's matchup with the Rams…)"We're a zone team, zone-running teams, so when you play a team that's really quick, high-tempo, up-field defensive front like this, you're going to run into some matchups. This is one of those teams with Aaron Donald and [Michael] Brockers, they really have 3 really good pass rushers, and [Alec] Ogletree can run, the 'Mike' linebacker, they're very physical in the defensive backfield. So this is a team that is really just a very fast football team and I'm pretty sure they're not very fired up about the way they played last week, so I'm sure they're going to be coming out guns blazing here."

2. (On keeping Russell Wilson upright after last week's ankle sprain...) "Russell's done an incredible job this week getting himself ready to play. He took a pretty good shot there against Miami, but hey, it's still a football game, right? We've got an offensive line and they know what they're charged with today. They know what's ahead of them and we just need to execute."

3. (On Rams running back Todd Gurley...) "This is one of the best young runners in the National Football League. The guy can score from anywhere on the field. … He's an incredible player. He can catch the ball out of the backfield and I would look for them to try to do a little more of that today, just trying to dump of swings and just trying to check it down to him, get it in his hands."
