Seattle Seahawks 2016 Schedule Announced

The NFL released its 2016 regular season, and the Seahawks will open at home against Miami on Sept. 11.

The NFL announced its 2016 regular season schedule Thursday, and the Seattle Seahawks will open their season at CenturyLink Field against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11, with the game kicking off at 1:05 pm on CBS.

In Week 2, the Seahawks will travel to Los Angeles to face the relocated Rams, marking head coach Pete Carroll's return to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where he coached the USC Trojans for nine seasons. It will be the Seahawks' first game in Los Angeles since playing the Raiders there in 1994, and first L.A. game against the Rams since 1988

The Seahawks return home to host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, then play at the New York Jets in Week 4, their first trip to MetLife Stadium since winning Super Bowl XLVIII there on February 2, 2014.

The Seahawks have an early bye in 2016, taking Week 5 off before hosting the Atlanta Falcons the following week. Seattle's first of five primetime games comes in Week 7, a Sunday night clash at defending NFC West champion Arizona. That is followed by a game at New Orleans in Week 8, marking the only back-to-back road games of the season.

Seattle hosts Buffalo in Week 9 on Monday Night Football, then travels to New England for a Sunday night game in Week 10, the first meeting between the teams since the Patriots' Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seahawks. The Seahawks then host Philadelphia in Week 11, play at Tampa Bay in Week 12, then host Carolina on Sunday night in Week 13, marking the seventh meeting, postseason included, with the Panthers in the past five seasons.

The Seahawks kick off the fourth quarter of their season at Lambeau Field, their second road game in Green Bay in as many seasons. Seattle then closes things out with three straight NFC West games, first hosting the Rams on Thursday night in Week 15, marking the first time the Seahawks have hosted three primetime games in a season since 2006. Seattle ends its season with a home game against Arizona in Week 16, with the game being played Saturday, Dec. 24, then travels to San Francisco for a regular season finale against the 49ers on New Year's Day.

Seattle's Week 4 game at New York and its Week 8 game against New Orleans are the only 10 a.m. PT kickoffs on the schedule.

The NFL also finalized the preseason schedule Thursday. The Seahawks will play at Kansas City on August 13, host Minnesota on August 18, host Dallas on August 25 and play at Oakland on Sept. 1.
