Seahawks receiver Dee Eskridge has been designated for return to practice this week, his next step back towards possibly returning from injured reserve.

Eskridge, a 2021 second-round pick, injured his hand on kick return duty in Seattle's Week 10 game in Munich.

"Dee Eskridge is going to practice today," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He was out there in the walkthrough today, and it was great to see him back."

Carroll cautioned that while they'd love to have Eskridge back, it may be challenging to be ready for this weekend's Wild Card game against the 49ers considering how much practice time he has missed.

"He's an explosive player," Carroll said. "He's got a lot of firepower. He's been out for quite a while, so it'd be a lot maybe to get him back this week, but first we've got to see him in practice. We haven't seen him in like six weeks or something."

Additionally, the Seahawks signed linebacker Chris Garrett to the practice squad on Tuesday. Garrett, a seventh-round pick of the Rams in the 2021 draft, appeared in one game as a rookie, then spent most of this season on Minnesota's practice squad.
