Seahawks To Host Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game

The Seahawks will host the USAA Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game on Sunday, October 18, at Lumen Field to celebrate the service and sacrifice of military members and their families.

The USAA Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. PT. Gate 3 opens at 10 a.m. PT.

Ahead of the matchup, we are highlighting a player from both the Army and Navy team about what this game and event means to them.

Q: You played for the team for a few years, what's special about this game, to you?

Jason Henderson (Navy): Yes, I did play in this game for several years, and what makes this game special to me is although we all took the oath to serve our country we still can come together for the love we carry for football. For all of us, this is an opportunity to show there are some real athletes in our armed forces and competition is something that in the moment we're against each other but at the end of the day we all are brothers in arm! Having the public and our families coming out to support makes it that more special to all of us truly.

Galo Tuiolosega (Army): What makes this game so special is I get the opportunity to represent the Army (JBLM), my unit, the 364 ESC and 654 RSG, and most importantly my family and faith. I love football; I have been blessed to have played and coached this sport all my life. To get a chance to play at Lumen Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, with my brothers in front of our families and friends, will become a core memory for the rest of my life.

Q: What is the atmosphere like at Lumen Field during the game?

Jason Henderson: The atmosphere at Lumen Field is electric during the game! The crowd is cheering loud and proud for all the service members really engaged with the game and each play! Hearing the crowd go crazy for big plays lights a fire in the team and pushes us harder to leave that game with the W in our favor.

Galo Tuiolosega: Nothing can really put it into words. I've watched so many NFL games played on this field throughout the years on TV, and to set foot on the field, in person, to play a game is beyond anything I can describe. It's truly an honor; I'm humbled and thankful for the opportunity.

Q: What's your most memorable moment over the years from this game?

Jason Henderson: The most memorable moment over the years from this game has to be Navy's 2-0 victory in the first inaugural game hosted at Lumen. Both sides made huge plays but ultimately it was a hard-fought defensive battle where Navy secured the win with only a safety on the board and Army missing what would've been the game winning field goal!

Galo Tuiolosega: Getting to win back the Army vs. Navy trophy back in April, earlier this year (2026). A game that we played at Cowan Stadium, JBLM. Navy had held the trophy since winning it back in 2024, when it was last played in Lumen Field. Now we get a chance to not only win the series back-to-back, but we also get another shot to win it at Lumen Field.

Q: Why is this event important for the military community?

Jason Henderson: This event is important for the military community because it brings both branches together and is a huge boost to the morale of our service members!

Galo Tuiolosega: These types of events are crucial in helping the military community build stronger relationships and partnerships with the local community, who have always been supportive in finding ways to highlight and recognize our service members and their families. This game gives us a platform to showcase our passion for the game as athletes, and as football fans. From all different walks of life, this sporting event will spotlight our competitiveness and camaraderie in a different light, beyond the uniform and our respective lines of work.

Q: What does it mean to you that the Seahawks host an event like this year after year.

Jason Henderson: Not many people in the world can say they had the opportunity to play on an NFL field but thanks to the Seahawks they have made that dream come true and it's truly an honor and privilege. It shows that the Seahawks organization truly stands by the Salute to service campaign and for that we're forever grateful!

Galo Tuiolosega: It would mean everything, not only for me and those who will play in this game, but also for those who will follow in the years ahead. Only a very few service members can say that they have played on an NFL field, let alone Lumen Field. Therefore, just having the opportunity to do so will be a blessing. I am overwhelmingly grateful to the Seahawks Organization, USAA, JBLM Leadership and the amazing MWR Staff in working to make this event a reality for us.
