Jaxon Smith-Njigba became a Super Bowl champion, an All-Pro and a Seahawks record-setter over the past year, and now, after signing a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday, he has secured his future in Seattle for years to come.

"It's an honor, it's a blessing," Smith-Njigba said after signing his extension. "I feel like I was definitely drafted to Seattle for a reason, it's become home, and it's just a blessing to come back and be a part of a great staff, a great team, great coaches and a great community. So I couldn't ask for more from a city and an organization."

The deal, which Smith-Njigba made official with his signature on Wednesday ahead of a press conference, allows the Seahawks to keep a young, star player in Seattle for years to come, and it rewards Smith-Njigba, who emerged as the NFL's top receiver in 2025.

After a strong 2024 campaign in which he earned Pro Bowl honors with 1,130 receiving yards on 100 catches, Smith-Njigba had a breakout 2025 season, setting franchise records with 119 catches for an NFL-leading 1,793 yards, and he also added 10 touchdown receptions. Those numbers helped Smith-Njigba earn first-team All-Pro honors while becoming the second player in team history, along with running back Shaun Alexander, to be named the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year.

Most importantly, Smith-Njigba played a big role in Seattle's team success, helping lead the Seahawks to a 14-3 regular-season record followed by a postseason run that saw the Seahawks win Super Bowl LX to earn the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

"Man, it's been a blur," Smith-Njigba said of his past year. "Just a celebration, what a great year. I'm just thankful I could stay healthy and see all this through. It's truly a blessing, and it takes so many people that are part of my journey that I'm so thankful for. Just to be able to celebrate al of these cool achievements with them, it's a blessing."
