After the Seahawks released Shaquill Griffin on Wednesday, general manager and president of football operations John Schneider made it clear that the veteran cornerback would not be away from the team for long.
"He'll stick around, for sure," Schneider said after Griffin was released to make room for cornerback Derion Kendrick, who was claimed off waivers. "We love Shaq."
And sure enough, Griffin is sticking around, having signed to the practice squad on Thursday. Defensive tackle Anthony Campbell was released to make room on the practice squad.
Griffin, a 2017 third-round pick of the Seahawks, spent his first four seasons with Seattle, earning Pro-Bowl honors in 2019, and since leaving as a free agent in 2021, he has spent time in Jacksonville, Houston, Carolina, and most recently, Minnesota. Last season with the Vikings, Griffin appeared in all 17 games, starting three while recording two interceptions, six passes defensed and 41 tackles.
The Seahawks launched their new Rivalries uniform, revealing the wolf grey and iridescent green look that they will wear for the Week 16 home game against the Los Angeles Rams.
