Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin was named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster Monday, giving the Seahawks seven Pro Bowl representatives for the third straight season, matching a team high that was also accomplished in 1984 and 2005.
Baldwin replaces Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who is unable to participate due to injury. Baldwin who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie in 2011, is one of three first-time Pro Bowlers for the Seahawks along with defensive end Cliff Avril and linebacker K.J. Wright. Also on this year's team are Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, defensive end Michael Bennett, linebacker Bobby Wagner and tight end Jimmy Graham.
Baldwin established career highs in 2016 with 1,128 receiving yards and a franchise-record-tying 94 reception. In addition to his seven touchdown receptions, Baldwin also threw for a touchdown, completing a 15-yard pass to quarterback Russell Wilson on the first pass attempt of his career. Baldwin, who had 1,069 yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns in 2015, is just the fifth receiver in franchise history with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, joining Steve Largent, Darrell Jackson, Joey Galloway and Brian Blades.
The 2017 Pro Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, January 29 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game will be televised live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
