Seahawks re-sign offensive lineman Lemuel Jeanpierre

The sixth-year pro started three games at center for an injured Max Unger last season.

The Seahawks have brought back a familiar face to compete for the starting center spot vacated by veteran Max Unger, re-signing sixth-year pro Lemuel Jeanpierre on Monday afternoon.

Jeanpierre, who was an unrestricted free agent, started three games at center in place of an injured Unger last season. He was originally a practice squad signee of the Seahawks in 2010 and has logged 11 starts through 53 games played.

With Unger off to the New Orleans Saints as part of the deal to acquire tight end Jimmy Graham, Jeanpierre joins third-year pro Patrick Lewis and recent depth-signing Jared Wheeler as players listed at center on the Seahawks' current roster.
