Seahawks Promote Malik Turner From Practice Squad

The Seahawks filled their open roster spot Wednesday by promoting rookie receiver Malik Turner from the practice squad.

A day after releasing veteran receiver Brandon Marshall, the Seahawks filled the open roster spot Wednesday by promoting rookie receiver Malik Turner from the practice squad.

Turner, who had 143 receptions for 1,804 yards in his college career at Illinois, went undrafted and signed with the Seahawks early in training camp, then in September was signed to the practice squad. During the preseason, Turner had five receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown.

The Seahawks also made changes to their practice squad, signing tight end Tyrone Swoopes, who was waived from the 53-man roster on Saturday. The Seahawks also brought back cornerback Jeremy Boykins, who spent training camp and the preseason with Seattle. Guard J.J. Dielman was released from the practice squad to make room for Boykins.
