Coming into Sunday's game between the Seahawks and 49ers, San Francisco's offense had a pretty impressive streak going: through four games, opponents had yet to register a sack on quarterback Brock Purdy.

That changed on Sunday thanks to third-year defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, who was one of the bright spots in a 32-29 loss to the 49ers. Murphy sacked Purdy twice, recording two of Seattle's three sacks -- Ernest Jones IV also had one -- and he was able to keep the pressure on throughout the game.

According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Murphy had seven pressures, tying a career high for pressures in a game, including his two sacks. Murphy also had six tackles, including a crucial tackle for loss on third and short that forced the 49ers to settle for a field goal.

Per Next Gen Stats, Murphy's 16 pressures this season rank fifth among defensive tackles, while his pressure rate of 14.2 percent ranks second among DTs.

"You felt Murph today," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "Happy for him. I think there's some good stuff, rush and coverage on defense that we did, and there are some things that we need to improve on as well. Like we talked about all week, their quarterback is a really good player. He saw a lot of plays off schedule today. Just a tough guy to get on the ground. He has a sixth sense on knowing where everybody is at. That's something that we want to obviously improve on, but Murph played a really good game."
