Seahawks right guard Anthony Bradford, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering an injury in the season opener, will make his return on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"It's exciting. I'm really happy with AB (Anthony Bradford)," head coach Mike Macdonald said on Monday. "The way he's approached this injury and how he's a better version of himself than he was before he got injured. I think it just speaks to his work ethic and positive mentality, which is really cool. AB's played really good football for us. He's a very physical presence for us at right guard both in the run and pass, so we're excited to possibly get him back."

The return of Bradford means Seattle will have its entire starting offensive line for just the second time this season.

"It's nice to get the starting five back together," Macdonald said after Friday's practice. "The guys (Christian Haynes and Beau Stephens) did a good job filling in for him. But AB's (Anthony Bradford) earned this job for a reason. He's played good football for us, especially during training camp."

After playing in Week 1 and missing Week 2, Bradford was placed on injured reserve with knee and hip injuries. He said the decision to be put on injured reserve was a "good" one.

"Just to get my whole body right so I won't be dealing with something that's year long, so I can just get it cleared up and (get) ready to play ball," Bradford said.

Being on injured reserve for most players isn't something they want to deal with or have to go through, but Macdonald said Bradford is better because of it.

"Normally a guy is forced to go on IR and it's a bummer, and it is for AB (Anthony Bradford). You can sense that there is frustration there because he wants to be healthy and he wants to be playing great football, but there is a way that you can approach that too," Macdonald said. "The way that he's approached it with positivity and energy has been a sense of strength for the guys rather than someone that has to just deal with the injury. I'm really impressed by how he's handled everything."

Bradford said it was important to stay around the team despite not being able to practice.

"Most dudes that are on IR, they probably feel a little left out, getting out the building early, but I kept in it," he said. "Stayed at meetings, just working out, staying around the guys, just trying to make sure I'm in the fight with the boys every week."

Bradford added: "I appreciate the decision. Now I'm ready to play ball."
