Pre-Super Bowl XLIX activities for fans promise to reach a fever pitch Saturday with the Seahawks Fan Fest at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Fan Fest is free and open to all Seahawks fans beginning at 1:30 p.m. Joining fans will members of the Seahawks Ring of Honor and other alumni and special guests.

Both the Sea Gals and Blue Thunder will perform, and there will be appearances by the mascots, Blitz and BOOM, plus photo opportunities with the Sea Gals and Taima, the team's augur hawk.

In addition there will be fan giveaways, interactive opportunities and a beer garden. Live classic rock music will be provided by The Walkens, a popular Phoenix cover band.

Those planning to attend are reminded that the NFL Bag Policy will be in effect for the event. Fans may only carry only the following style and size bag, package, or container into Chase Field or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry.

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options available at Chase Field.

Fan Fest attendees are encouraged to use light rail or public transportation. There is no public parking available.

For those interested in more Seahawks fans activities, please follow the Sea Hawkers Road Crew on their Facebook page.

Elsewhere, the NFL Experience ($35 adults, $20 children; advance purchase through Ticketmaster strongly recommended) is open downtown and fans attend Media Day at US Airways Center on Tuesday ($28.50). Beginning Wednesday, 12 downtown city blocks will be transformed into an outdoor campus of mostly-free fun, called Super Bowl Central.
