Seahawks Executive VP/General Manager John Schneider Appears in Season Premiere of 'The League'

The Seahawks GM humorously depicts the team's drafting of wide receiver Tyler Lockett.

The League.*

The television comedy, which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. PT on FXX, follows the antics of a group of friends and their fantasy football league. Actual NFL players, including Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, have appeared on the show before, but the series has lacked the presence of NFL front office executives. Until last night, that is, when The League introduced Seahawks Executive VP/General Manager John Schneider in the first episode of season seven.

The full two-minute segment with Schneider is embedded for you above (warning: explicit language) and it humorously details Seattle's drafting of the rookie wideout/return specialist Lockett, who the Seahawks traded up to select in the third round (No. 69 overall) of the 2015 draft. Schneider was joined by friends, family, and co-workers last night at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center for a special screening of his T.V. debut.

"We were thrilled to have the best GM in the League on the show as our first cameo from a front office," said Jackie Schaffer, *who with her husband Jeff serves as executive producers of the show - and Seahawks fans to boot.* "John knocked it out of the park. He was quick and funny. We thought we did a good job of re-creating your war room  - until Schneider explained that the actual Seahawks war room has a decidedly more chill vibe. We had no idea there was music playing and the secret to a great draft is apparently lavender essential oils."

Lynch was also featured in the opening episode, which you can watch in full (with a valid cable provider) right here.

If you're looking for the "real" story behind what went into the Seahawks' selection of Tyler Lockett, look no further than last night's season premiere of
