The Seahawks elevated cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Jerrick Reed II off their practice squad for Monday night's game against the Houston Texans, the second straight week those two have been elevated.

Griffin and Reed give the Seahawks additional depth in their secondary with safety Julian Love (hamstring) and cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee) both listed as questionable for Monday night's game.

Griffin, a 2017 third-round pick of the Seahawks, returned to Seattle as a free agent this offseason. This will be his third game, including a start last week when the Seahawks were without both Witherspoon and Riq Woolen, the latter of whom is back after missing one game due to a concussion.

"Shaq did a good job, made tackles on the perimeter, played with great eye control," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said of Griffin's performance. "We had one miscommunication on the first touchdown, which again, that's my job that we can execute that, and we didn't, and we've got to make that come to life. That starts with me. We had a mishap there, but outside of that, sticky in coverage, played disciplined, really positive."

Reed, a 2023 sixth-round pick, has appeared in two games so far this season, playing primarily on special teams.
