Seahawks Drive Of The Game: Rashid Shaheed Finds The End Zone For His First Offensive Touchdown As A Seahawk

Seattle’s offense went 65 yards, on seven plays in 4:11 in the second quarter leading to a Rashid Shaheed offensive touchdown for the first time as a Seahawk.

Seahaws Week 4 Drive of the Game

The Seahawks offense managed to have three different players find the end zone during Sunday's 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Emanuel Wilson had both a rushing and receiving touchdown, Tory Horton scored his first touchdown of the season and Rashid Shaheed found the end zone for his first offensive touchdown as a Seahawk.

After a quiet start through the first three games, Shaheed contributed to both the run and pass game, as well as his usual return duties. He finished Sunday with a total of 95 total return yards, one catch for 20 yards, and two carries for 33 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown run.

Shaheed's touchdown came on a drive that started with quarterback Sam Darnold being sacked for an eight-yard loss, but the Seahawks were able to rely on the run game, as well as a big 28-yard gain, where Darnold connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba downfield, to put the Seahawks in Chargers territory.

Wilson had three carries for 15 yards on the drive that helped take Seattle down to the Chargers 34-yard line.

After three straight carries by Wilson, Shaheed lined up in the backfield and Seattle ran a toss sweep and thanks to blocking downfield, including a block by Smith-Njigba, Shaheed used his speed and shiftiness to make his way into the end zone.

"It was awesome," head coach Mike Macdonald said after the game. "We've had that in for a while, so it was a great call by Brian (Fleury) at the right time. I thought we blocked it great, and Sheed (Rashid Shaheed) did the rest."

The touchdown put the Seahawks up, 13-3.

After the game, Shaheed was praised for his versatility as a playmaker.

"Sheed (Rashid Shaheed), he wears a lot of hats for our offense," Darnold said. "He obviously does great in special teams as well. It's awesome to be able to see him do his thing. Obviously running the football in some regards and obviously catching the rock as well."

Smith-Njigba added: "Any type of way that we can get him the ball is going to be good for our offense. We have explosive guys so we just have to put it in their hands and let them go to work."
