Seahawks Claim Linebacker Emmanuel Ellerbee Off Of Waivers

The Seahawks added linebacker depth Monday, claiming rookie Emmanuel Ellerbee off waivers.

The Seahawks added depth at linebacker Monday, claiming rookie Emmanuel Ellerbee off of waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers. The Seahawks had an open roster spot after safety T.J. Green left the squad.

Ellerbee, 21, went undrafted out of Rice before signing with the Atlanta Falcons. After being waived in September as part of Atlanta's roster cuts, Ellerbee was claimed by the Chargers, with whom he appeared in three games.

At Rice, Ellerbee earned first-team All-Conference USA honors as a junior and as a senior, recording a total of 238 tackles over those two seasons.

Green, a former second-round pick out of Clemson, signed with Seattle earlier this month and was inactive for both of his games with the Seahawks.
