Sea Gals Announce Audition Details For 2018 Squad

The Sea Gals will hold open auditions for the cheerleading squad’s 2018 team on Saturday, April 21, starting at 1 p.m. at Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks announced today the Sea Gals will hold open auditions for the cheerleading squad's 2018 team on Saturday, April 21, starting at 1 p.m. at Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in Renton.

The competition will be comprised of three rounds and contestants will be evaluated in three categories: technical dance skill, stage presence and overall appearance. The first round of competition includes a one-minute freestyle dance to music provided by the Seahawks. The semi-finals will be held on Sunday, April 22, and contestants will perform a routine taught at the end of the Open Auditions. The final competition and live webcast will take place on Sunday, May 13 at the CenturyLink Field West Lounge. The 2018 squad will be revealed at the conclusion of the webcast.

Applicants must be at least 19 years of age and have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent by April 1, 2018. There is a $20 audition fee (cash only). The 2018 squad will consist of 24 – 32 members.

The Seahawks have also named Courtney Moore as Sea Gals Director. Moore enters her first season as Director after spending the previous three seasons as the Sea Gal's choreographer. She originally joined the squad as part of the dance group in 2008 and was named the Sea Gal of the Year in 2009, a squad leader in 2010-14, and the Sea Gals' representative in the Pro Bowl in 2014.
