Russell Wilson Nominated For Air Player Of The Week

The Seahawks quarterback is up for the weekly honor from NFL.com following his 334-yard, three-touchdown performance in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Russell Wilson is one of three quarterbacks up for Air Player of the Week at NFL.com following his performance in this past Sunday's 24-7 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

The Seahawks signal caller completed 27-of-39 (69.2 percent) throws for 334 yards, Wilson's second-highest total of the season, tossed three touchdowns — one to Doug Baldwin, one to Paul Richardson, and one to Jimmy Graham — and recorded a season-high 121.1 quarterback rating. Wilson's Week 7 touchdown total is a number of note for the Seahawks, who now own a 12-0 regular-season record when Wilson passes for three scores.

For the weekly award, Wilson finds himself up against Oakland quarterback Derek Carr, who went 29-of-52 for 417 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winning score as time expired, in a 31-30 win over Kansas City, as well as Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, who in that same game completed 25-of-36 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns.

Voting is open right here through 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, October 26 and fans can also cast a ballot on Twitter using the #AirAndGround hashtag and the nominee's last name. If Wilson is honored, a $2,000 donation will be made in his name to the USO. The winner will be announced Thursday afternoon.
