The Seahawks have played their past two games without their top two running backs, rookie Jadarian Price, who is on injured reserve, and Zach Charbonnet, who bean the season on the physically unable to perform list. And that will likely be the case once again when the Seahawks head to Denver for a Thursday night game this week.
Charbonnet, who tore his ACL in Seattle's Divisional Round win over the 49ers in January, returned to practice ahead of Seattle's Week 4 game, but after two weeks of practice and with a short week coming, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said they're not expecting to activate Charbonnet this week.
"The plan right now isn't for sure for him to play," Macdonald said after Sunday's loss to the 49ers. "That could change, but as of right now, he's not going to play."
If Charbonnet is indeed out against the Broncos, and with Price having to miss at least two more games on IR, the Seahawks will again go with a combination of Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, Velus Jones Jr. and perhaps newcomer Robert Henry Jr. who was inactive for Sunday's game after signing earlier in the week.
Macdonald said there were no other injury updates coming out of Sunday's game other than that linebacker Drake Thomas had an ankle injury, though he was able to return and finish the game.
