A daily link round-up of what's "out there" about your Seattle Seahawks

!

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Monday, July 27 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Tyler Lockett Wins Big 12 Athlete Of The Year

The Big 12 league office today announced that former Kansas State University wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who the Seahawks traded up to select in the third round (No. 69 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft, has been named Big 12 male athlete of the year for 2014-15.

The award is Lockett's latest from his time at Kansas State, where the 5-foot-10, 182-pound wideout also won the Johnny Rodgers Award as the nation's top return specialist. A favorite to win the kick- and punt-return jobs in Seattle, Lockett led the country in punt-return average (19.1 yards) while with the Wildcats last year and finished third in receiving yards (1,515) and all-purpose yards (2,296).

Lockett was the school's first four-year All-American and is one of just three players in program history to earn All-Big 12 honors in each of his four seasons. He helped lead Kansas State to bowl berths all four years and set 17 school records, including career marks for catches (249), receiving yards (3,710), and receiving touchdowns (29), outpacing his father, Kevin, in each statistic.

Today's "Tweet of the Day" comes from Tyler Lockett's father Kevin, who congratulates his son on his latest achievement.
