Seahawks Legend Marcus Trufant was named the 2026 Seahawks Legend of the Year for his work in the community.
Trufant, who is a Tacoma native, and Washington State alum, was a first-round draft pick in 2003 and spent all of his 10 NFL seasons with Seattle. During his time with the Seahawks, he was nominated as the Seahawks Man of the Year in 2006. He was also a defensive captain in 2011. At the end of his career, Trufant had recorded a total of 644 tackles, 112 passes defensed, 21 interceptions and two career interceptions returned for touchdowns. He was also named a Pro Bowler in 2007 and signed a one-day contract to retire with Seattle in 2013. He was also recognized as a Top 50 Player in Seahawks history last season.
Trufant manages to stay connected to Seattle and the Seahawks community through his community and charitable engagements. He can be frequently seen supporting Seahawks events or putting together his own events through the Trufant Family Foundation. His foundation, which awards scholarships to under-represented students in Tacoma, Seattle and the surrounding communities, also has mentorship and educational opportunities for students pursuing education and careers beyond high school.
His work ranges from charity golf tournaments to community block parties, and football camps.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue representing the values of community service that have been important to me throughout my career," Trufant said.
He also serves on the board of a handful of organizations, including the Believe in Me nonprofit, the Cougs 4 Kids alumni advisory board, and the Seattle Aquarium board of directors, to make sure his reach is felt in different areas of the greater-Seattle community.
