A week after sustaining a calf injury that kept him out of the Seahawks' Week 3 game in Washington, Seahawks safety Julian Love said he was hopeful that it will only be a one-game absence.

And Friday's injury report, which did not include a game status for the former Pro Bowler, confirmed that Love is indeed back after practicing fully on Friday.

Love injured his calf last Thursday and ended up not playing in his team's loss to the Commanders, but he was back on the practice field when the Seahawks got back to work Wednesday, practicing fully on Friday after being limited the previous two days.

"I'm feeling good," Love said Thursday. "Kind of a random thing last week, but just attacked it, the training staff did a good job, so I'm feeling good."

Love explained the injury by saying, "My calf just kind of went on me a little bit. I wasn't doing anything too crazy, it happened Thursday, with the flight and a quick turnaround, things just weren't able to progress quick enough to get out there."

With Love out, AJ Finley made his first career start, playing alongside Rodney Thomas II, who has been starting for an injured Ty Okada, and Love liked what he saw from those two while helping coach them up on the sideline.

"I think they did a good job," Love said. "AJ Finley is a guy we trust and really believe in, and he brought a nice calmness to everybody. It's a big undertaking in this defense filling in kind of on short notice. Rod Thomas has been doing a great job, and what we communicated to them is, just keep playing ball."

The Seahawks began their week of practice on Wednesday, September 30 as they get ready to host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
