The Seahawks played Sunday's game without Pro-Bowl safety Julian Love, the result of a calf injury that occurred in Thursday's practice.

Whether Love is able to return this week remains to be seen, but Love was able to do what Macdonald called "extensive work" on Monday, keeping the possibility of returning to practice open.

"It's a day-to-day thing right now, so we'll see how that shakes out," Macdonald said. "He did some extensive work this morning and it went well, so we'll see how that translates to Wednesday and moving forward."

Macdonald did not give an update in his afternoon press conference on safety Ty Okada, who has missed the first three games with a hamstring injury, but said on his Monday morning radio show on Seattle Sports 710AM that it was too soon to know if Okada would return to practice this week.

With Love out, AJ Finley made his first career start alongside Rodney Thomas II, who has started the past three games for Okada. Asked about how those two safeties played, Macdonald said, "The guys played good football, they communicated. There are some opportunities out there that I think both would say that we'd like to be able to take advantage of next time."

Running back Zach Charbonnet, who is on the physically unable to perform list, still must miss at least one more game before he is eligible to return to game action, but he is eligible to return to practice, which would open a 21-day window in which he could practice without counting towards the 53-man roster limit. Macdonald said a decision has not been made yet on this week, but it is possible Charbonnet will return to practice.

"We're still working through that process, I'm sure we'll have an answer by sometime tomorrow on whether or not he'll start practicing this week," Macdonald said. "It's not out of the question yet, we just haven't had an update."
