It seemed that every week during the regular season, Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was setting franchise records and making sure his name was among some of the Seahawks greats. And now he is up for the Air & Ground Player Of The Year Award.

Smith-Njigba finished the regular season as the league's leader in receiving yards (1,793) and set the franchise record for most receiving yards in a single season.

Teammate Cooper Kupp, who led the league in that same category in 2021, said, "That's a huge accomplishment and it's not easy. It's something you have to do to compete and produce week after week. We take pride in our overall successes on offense… Certainly, some pride in having the league leader in our room."

This season he also became the third player in NFL history 23 years old or younger

with at least 1,700 receiving yards in a single season, became the first player in NFL history with at least 75 receiving yards in each of his first 11 games of a season and set the franchise record for most receptions in a single season with a career-high 119.

Throughout the season, Smith-Njigba was nominated twice for the weekly Air & Ground Player award. The winner of the award will be announced on Feb. 5, 2026, at NFL Honors during Super Bowl weekend.
