Coming off a perfect performance against the Minnesota Vikings that included four made field goals and two extra points made, Seahawks kicker Jason Myers was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month.

Throughout the month of November, Myers led the NFL with 15 field goals made, led the NFL with 61 points and was tied for second overall in the NFL with 16 extra points made.

During November, Myers also set a franchise record for field goals made, which is now up to 187 and counting, passing Stephen Hauschka who previously held the record with 175.

After setting the record, Myers said, "I saw it earlier in the year. It's cool, but it's one kick at a time. It's kind of cliche, but it's the way you go about it."

He added, "It's what I work for. That's what my job is. It's to come in and put points on the board whenever the offense can't score a touchdown. I try to describe myself as being consistent and coming in and kind of cleaning up stuff for the offense."

He also had two games with four field goals made and connected on three field goals from 50+ yards.

And along with all of that, Myers has been giving opponents the worst starting field positions in the NFL after kickoffs. Seattle's opponents average field position is 27.3, per Elias Sports Bureau.

"There's no such thing as true hang time anymore," head coach Mike Macdonald said on the kickoffs this season. "Hang time is really how fast the returner can get going. Whether the ball is on the ground or if you're kicking it and the guy's going backwards, there's a little bit more artistry to it. Jason's (Myers) doing a great job with that, and it's really giving us an edge."
