When Seattle picked DK Metcalf in the 2019 NFL Draft, Hall of Famer and Seahawks Legend Steve Largent was quick to show his support. He recorded a congratulatory video saying, "I think you're going to have a great time and a great career in Seattle."

A few months later, Metcalf arrived to the stadium for his first NFL regular season game wearing a retro Steve Largent jersey. He would tally 4 receptions for 89 yards in his debut, narrowly edging Largent's franchise record of 86 receiving yards in his NFL debut.

In Week 17 of Metcalf's second season, their paths intertwined again when he surpassed Largent's 35-year-old franchise record for receiving yards in a single season. Prior to the game, Metcalf needed just six yards to break the record of 1,287 yards set in 1985. A pair of catches in the second quarter did just that, bumping him to 1,291 total receiving yards for the season.

And just as he did for the Draft, Largent recorded another celebratory video. "I'm really proud of you and proud of the way you're playing." This time, he was wearing Metcalf's jersey.
