Happy Sacking Birthday To Jacob Green!

Former Seattle pass rusher and current Seahawks Ring of Honor member Jacob Green celebrates his 59th birthday on Jan. 21, 2016.

Today we wish a happy 59th birthday to Ring of Honor member Jacob Green! Selected 10th overall in the 1980 draft, Green spent 12 seasons with the Seahawks before heading to the San Francisco 49ers for his 13th and final season.

During his time with the Seahawks, Green was a two-time Pro Bowler (1986 and 1987), was selected as a first-team All-Pro player in 1983, and second-team All-Pro in 1984. He was also a two-time All-American at Texas A&M.

Because the NFL did not record sacks as an official stat until 1982, Green only has 97.5 recorded sacks. When sacks from his first two seasons are included, his total is up to 116, giving him membership in the NFL's 100-sack club. Green still holds the franchise records for career sacks and is tied for most sacks in a game with 4.0, against the New York Giants in 1986.

Green also holds records for most forced fumbles in a career (28) and most forced fumbles in a season (7, 1985).

He is the father-in-law to former Seahawks defensive end Red Bryant, who now plays for the Arizona Cardinals.

Happy 59th birthday to a member of the Seahawks Ring of Honor and NFL 100 Sacks Club, the very accomplished Seahawks Legend Jacob Green!
