Carroll On Sports Radio 950 KJR

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll joined Sports Radio 950 KJR yesterday and chatted about a number of topics. Here are a few highlights from his lengthy on-air interview:

Did you play as many young guys as you wanted to last year?

"I felt like we played the guys as we needed to. I've come out of this season wishing I had a little more information on David Moore and Amara (Darboh). I wish we would've known more about those guys at this time and got more playtime out of them. For the most part, we got a lot of activity out of our guys."

Is establishing a run game still that important to you right now like when you first started in Seattle?

"More than ever. Because we've seen the difficulties we've had in the last two seasons really finding a consistency in a number of different aspects of our game because the running game has not been as prevalent. We're right back at it. We're really excited about making sure that the emphasis is right and making progress toward it. I'm glad that we had the group of guys coming back up front for the first time, we feel like there's a little continuity to our guys up front in the last few years. And as we look in the running back room, they're all healthy. Those guys have been so banged up the last two years. They're all healthy right now and it's a good looking young group of hungry guys.

"We're going to work our tails off to get back to it and be very aggressive and very tough and very physical and bring that back to life for us. "

Do you see Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril contributing this season?

"We don't have any new information on those guys and what's going on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those guys because I know they would love to play and we just have to wait and see how that turns out."
