Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Friday, July 28 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
Ranking NFL Teams By Best Offensive Weapons
Bill Barnwell at ESPN.com ranks each team's set of offensive weapons beyond the quarterback, putting together a list of the best supporting casts around the League. In his exercise, Barnwell "considers running backs, wide receivers and tight ends without the influence of quarterbacks, offensive linemen or offensive coordinators" and notes that his ranks "considers only how they'll perform in 2017 without worrying about future seasons."
The Seahawks' group of ball carriers and pass catchers ranks in the middle of the Barnwell's list, coming in at No. 16 overall. Here's a bit of what Barnwell had to say about Seattle:
You might not have noticed, but Doug Baldwin is a real No. 1 wideout, given that he ranks 12th in receiving yards (tied with Larry Fitzgerald) and seventh in touchdowns (just ahead of Demaryius Thomas) over the past three years. ... Jimmy Graham was surprisingly reliable in returning from his torn patella, playing all 16 games while posting his highest yardage total since 2013. The arriving Eddie Lacy should split time with Thomas Rawls, but the best-case scenario for Seattle might involve 2016 third-round pick C.J. Prosise becoming the featured back.
Coming in at the top of Barnwell's offensive weapons rankings are the Miami Dolphins (No. 3), Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 2), and New England Patriots (No. 1).
