Five Seahawks were selected to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-NFC Team and two of them were also named to the All-NFL Team.
Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and defensive tackle Leonard Williams were named both All-NFL and All-NFC, while cornerback Devon Witherspoon, punt returner Rashid Shaheed and punter Michael Dickson were named All-NFC.
Smith-Njigba earned PFWA honors after leading the NFL in receiving yards (1,793), the eighth-most in a single-season in NFL history and putting together the best season of his very young career. He was also named a Pro Bowler and All-Pro this season. He became the first player in NFL history with at least 75 receiving yards in each of his first 11 games of a season. He also had nine 100-yard games this season, the most in the NFL, and the most in a single season in franchise history. Along with that, Smith-Njigba set multiple franchise records and did enough to put his name next to NFL greats in the league record books.
Williams was named PFWA All-NFC last season, and named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams this season, for a season that included 7.0 sacks, which tied the team high, 72 tackles, and 22 quarterback hits, that led the team.
Witherspoon was named to the Pro Bowl, second-team All-Pro, and named to the Seahawks Top 50 Players this season and had 72 tackles, one interception, a fumble recovery, half a sack and seven passes defensed, all while playing just 12 games because of injury.
Dickson, like Witherspoon was also named second-team All-Pro and named a Top 50 Seahawk, averaged 49 yards per punt this season and his 48.3 punt average ranks fourth in NFL history.
Shaheed, who easily might be the trade of the NFL season, has three return touchdowns with the Seahawks after joining the team ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. He returned a punt 58 yards in Week 16 to help spark a Seahawks comeback victory over the Rams, and in Week 14 he was name NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
