During NFL Super Bowl week, players must deal with tremendous pressure, as they are put under a bigger spotlight while preparing for the biggest game of their lives. In NFL Week 17, most fantasy football leagues have reached their Super Bowl week, and those who participate deal with their own unique type of pressure.

Sure, fantasy football anxiety does not compare to the emotions that real NFL players experience during the buildup period to the massive final game. But when fantasy leaguers reach championship week, the championship competitors certainly feel their own unique types of tension and stress.

No, fantasy players don't sit in front of tons of media during the pregame week, but there might as well be a large crush of imaginary microphones inside their heads. Some fantasy players will obsess even more about their lineup decisions during championship week. There is constant second-guessing and indecision that surrounds many lineup moves.

Avoid the temptations to think through every move more than you usually would. Stick with the most dependable players that have pointed the way to a fantasy football championship game berth. Those who are among the final two team managers still standing in their leagues should proceed with confidence.

Remember the goal of Week 17 in fantasy football is the same as every other week. Simply set the best lineup for the highest possible score. Don't worry about who your opponent starts, and focus on the things you can control, such as not fretting too much about potential lineup decisions.

For example, don't bench the quarterback that you have regularly started until now for a less reliable option who may have a better matchup. By now, you should be comfortable with the usual starters that have helped your team advance to the final round of the fantasy season. Use matchups to determine close decisions between streaming options.

Here are some of our best options to consider for the Fantasy Football Super Bowl this week, with analysis leaning to PPR formats. Players are listed in order of starting preference at each position.

Fantasy Football Championship Week: Running Backs To Start

START Ashton Jeanty: The Las Vegas rookie sparkled in a Week 16 breakout performance. Against the formidable Houston defense, Jeanty rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown, and he also caught a 60-yard TD pass.

This week, the Raiders face the Giants, who have been a prime fantasy matchup for opposing RBs throughout the season. New York ranks 30th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to opposing RBs. Although this game could have an impact on next year's NFL Draft positioning at the top of the order, Jeanty is going to be riding momentum into a very favorable matchup. He should still be started as he looks to finish his first NFL season with strong performances.

START Rhamondre Stevenson: TreVeyon Henderson is in the league's concussion protocol, and he might miss New England's Week 17 game against the Jets. Stevenson can produce very good numbers if he is needed to operate as the lead RB for New England. The Patriots are getting a great matchup for fantasy RBs as they close in on an AFC East title.

New York has allowed 15 rushing TDs to RBs this season, which is tied for the second-most in the NFL. The Jets' defense might spend a lot of time on the field this week, and Stevenson may build an impressive stat line with an expanded workload. If the Patriots dominate this matchup, expect Stevenson to be a big part of the offensive success.

Be sure to monitor Henderson's status leading up to Sunday's game. If he is ruled out, lock Stevenson in as an RB2 or flex play. If Henderson can play, Stevenson can still be considered as a flex option for possible goal-line work.

START Kenneth Gainwell: The Steelers are on the verge of clinching the AFC North title, and they have been able to rely on both of their top two RBs during the push to the postseason. Pittsburgh is looking thin at wide receiver heading into a Week 17 matchup with the Browns, and Gainwell and Jaylen Warren are both viable options.

Over the past four weeks, Cleveland ranks 30th in FFPG allowed to opposing RBs. Gainwell should be very busy this week. He has finished as a fantasy RB1 in three consecutive games and five of his last six. Gainwell caught 19 passes in his last three games and will help the Steelers compensate in the passing game while DK Metcalf is out.

Gainwell is a good flex play or RB2 streamer for NFL Week 17.

START Kenneth Walker III: Last week, Walker delivered his best fantasy performance of the season. In the thrilling win over the Rams, he totaled 164 scrimmage yards and rushed for a TD. Walker averaged 9.1 yards per carry on 11 attempts and finished with 26.4 points.

The Seahawks are heading into another pivotal late-season matchup against the surprising Panthers. Carolina ranks 24th in FFPG allowed to opposing RBs this season. The fantasy matchup indicates potential upside for Walker again this week. Start him if you need a possible boost at a flex spot.

Fantasy Football Championship Week: Wide Receivers To Start

START Jauan Jennings: The 49ers have a must-see matchup on the Week 17 schedule against the Chicago Bears. A Chicago victory could be helpful to the Seahawks in their pursuit of the NFC West title. But starting Jennings in fantasy football can help you win a championship game even if the Bears beat the Niners.

Chicago is very opportunistic and aggressive on defense and is a top-tier team in terms of forcing turnovers. But that approach also leads to giving up many key plays to opponents, especially in the passing game. The Bears have allowed 20 TD receptions to WRs this season, which is the second-most in the league. Jennings comes into Week 17 with five TD receptions in his last four games.

START DJ Moore: There will be a lot on the line for both teams in the Bears-49ers matchup, and it will be essential for Chicago to keep pace on offense. Moore is coming on strong as the Bears attempt to secure one of the top seeds in the NFC. In the past two games, he caught three TD passes.

In each of the past two games, Moore has finished as a top 8 fantasy WR. Last week, he seized the opportunity to play a key role in a significant win. He caught five passes for 97 yards and a TD. In the showdown with San Francisco, expect Caleb Williams' top pass-catcher to post a satisfying statistical line.

START Jakobi Meyers: The Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the league, and Trevor Lawrence's play started to soar in recent weeks. Meyers recently signed a contract extension with Jacksonville and he will be a key performer as the Jags aim to claim the AFC South title.

The Colts rank 30th in FFPG allowed to WRs this season. Meyers has been targeted 25 times in his last three games, and he is a quality WR3 starting option for Week 17. Meyers recently rode a stretch of three consecutive games with a TD reception, and he carries promise for some splash plays this week.

START Christian Watson: Jordan Love spreads the ball around a lot, but Watson is one of his favorite big-play targets. He has caught all five of his TD passes for the season in the last six games. Over the past four weeks, Baltimore allowed the third-most receiving yards to WRs. Watson should be considered when if you need an upside performer at a WR3 or flex spot.

Fantasy Football Championship Week: Quarterbacks To Start

START Trevor Lawrence: Unless you roster another top 4 fantasy QB, it is apparently hard to bench Lawrence at the most important time of the year. In the last two games, he finished as fantasy QB1 and QB2. He has four top seven finishes in his last five games. In his last two games, Lawrence passed for eight TDs and rushed for two scores.

START Jacoby Brissett: Look for a rebound performance from Brissett in what should be a high-scoring game against the Bengals. He finished as a fantasy QB1 in nine of his last 10 games played. Brissett ranks fifth in the NFL in red zone passing attempts and he has logged 40-plus overall attempts in six of his last seven games played.

Fantasy Football Championship Week: Tight Ends To Start

START Harold Fannin Jr.: Over the past four weeks, Pittsburgh ranks 28th in FFPG allowed to TEs. Fannin finished as a top 2 fantasy TE in two of his last three games. He has caught a TD pass in three of his last four games played.

START Juwan Johnson: Last week, Johnson caught eight of his nine targets for 89 yards and finished as fantasy TE4. Tennessee ranks 25th in FFPG allowed to TEs over the past four weeks, Johnson is a clear top two option in the New Orleans passing game.

Fantasy Football Championship Week Defenses To Stream: Los Angeles Rams (vs. Atlanta), New Orleans (vs. Tennessee), Jacksonville (vs. Indianapolis), Tampa Bay (vs. Miami).

The Seahawks and Panthers face off on Sunday, Dec. 28 for Week 17 of the 2025 season. Kickoff is set for 10:00 a.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Panthers.
