Better choices for after school snacks are foods that are not just starchy and sweet, they should include protein and colors (naturally colored foods like veggies and fruits). Choices like cheese on apple slices or trail mix will fuel energy for activity and study better than chips, pretzels and cereal. A player favorite snack from our training table is Peanut Butter Dip with apples, celery or carrots to dip in.

Peanut Butter Dip

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Combine all ingredients until smooth and mixed completely, can be mixed by hand or in a food processor. Store in the refrigerator, will keep through the expiration date of the yogurt, 6-8 servings.
