CHARLOTTE—Doug Baldwin is active for Sunday's game in Carolina, meaning the Seahawks will have one of their top playmakers on the field for a game that has big playoff implications for both teams.
Baldwin, who is dealing with a groin injury that kept him out of practice Wednesday and Friday (the Seahawks had Thanksgiving off), was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the receiver would be a game-day decision. Baldwin went through a pregame workout at Bank of America Stadium to show team athletic trainers that he was good to go.
The Seahawks did add some insurance at receiver in case Baldwin wasn't able to go, promoting Keenan Reynolds from the practice squad on Saturday.Reynolds is active for Sunday's game.
Baldwin playing means that linebacker K.J. Wright is the only player inactive due to injury for the Seahawks. Wright, who was ruled out Friday with a knee injury, will miss his second straight game.
Returning to game action Sunday is cornerback Neiko Thorpe, one of Seattle's top special teams players who had missed the previous four games due to a groin injury. The Seahawks will also have defensive end Dion Jordan back after a one-game absence due to a knee injury.
Like Seattle, Carolina has only one injury-related inactive, receiver Devin Funchess, who was listed as doubtful with a back injury. Receiver Torrey Smith, who was listed as questionable, is active after missing the previous four games with a knee injury.
