The 2015-16 NBA season tipped off on Tuesday, and the Golden State Warriors, last year's league champion, took home a 111-95 win over the New Orleans Pelicans behind 40 points from Golden State guard Stephen Curry, the 2014-15 NBA MVP.
Marshawn Lynch, an Oakland native, was surely rooting for the Bay Area franchise on opening night. After all, the Seahawks running back did take part in the Warriors' championship parade this past June sporting the team's royal blue and gold ball cap.
But a recent Bleacher Report post features "Beast Mode" backing an NBA team that no longer exists. In honor of the NBA's new season, the site created NFL/NBA jersey mashups for 22 football teams. Lynch is shown in a green-and-gold Seattle Supersonics-themed Seahawks jersey wearing his No. 24, a number the Sonics retired in 2007 to recognize Spencer Haywood, who was enshrined to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame last month.
Lynch's Seahawks/Sonics digs are laid out for you in this article and Bleacher Report's full series of NFL/NBA jersey mashups can be found right here.
