With the 7-5 Seahawks in Baltimore for a Week 14 game against the Ravens and battling for position in the NFC playoff picture, we know the 2015 season is just starting to heat up for Seattle. But given the excitement surrounding the regular-season schedule release each year, we figure it's never too early to look ahead in the NFL.
A majority of the Seahawks' opponents for the 2016 regular season are already known because of the League's rotating schedule. Seattle will face a road rematch of Super Bowl XLIX next season, traveling to New England for a game against the Patriots. It's one of four battles the Seahawks have against the AFC East next year, with games against the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins coming at home and a game against the New York Jets occurring on the road. The Seahawks also face the entire NFC South next season, hosting the Carolina Panthers at home for the second time in as many seasons and welcoming the Dan Quinn-coached Atlanta Falcons to CenturyLink Field while also going on the road for games against the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Outside of those games against the AFC East and NFC South, the Seahawks' 2016 schedule features the traditional home-and-away contests against their NFC West rivals - the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams. Rounding out Seattle's 2016 slate will be a home game against the NFC East opponent that finishes 2015 in the same spot as the Seahawks and a road game against the NFC North team to place the same as Seattle this season.
The exact dates and times of each game are expected to be released next spring prior to the 2016 NFL Draft, which is set to take place April 28-30.
