Richard Sherman Unveiled On NFL Network's Top 100 Players Of 2015

Seattle has seven players on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2015.

The Seahawks have a seventh player on NFL Network's list of the Top 100 Players of 2015.

Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman was unveiled at No. 11 on Wednesday night, when players ranked Nos. 20-11 were revealed on the list determined solely by the votes of current NFL players.

The No. 11 ranking represents a year-over-year drop in standing for Sherman, who made his Top-100 debut at No. 50 in 2013 before jumping all the way up to No. 7 in 2014 to become the League's highest-ranked defensive player. But Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson came in at No. 19 on this year's list and New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis came in at No. 17, making Sherman the top-ranked cornerback in the game heading into 2015.

This past year, the three-time first-team All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowl cornerback didn't collect an interception until a Thanksgiving night game at the home of the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers, when Sherman came away with two picks of Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He went on to record a team-high four interceptions, half of the career-high tying eight interceptions he recorded in 2013 - the most in the NFL that season. Despite the lack of throws that come his way, the Stanford graduate's 24 picks since 2011 lead the NFL and his 68 passes defensed are second-most in the League (Joe Haden, 69).

Sherman joins six of his Seahawks teammates on NFL Network's player-driven list. Free safety Earl Thomas came in at No. 21, quarterback Russell Wilson at No. 22, tight end Jimmy Graham at No. 31, strong safety Kam Chancellor at No. 41, linebacker Bobby Wagner at No. 69, and defensive end Michael Bennett at No. 90. Thomas and Chancellor are the top two players at the safety spot on the network's Top 100 countdown.

The only Seattle player that made last year's list who has yet to appear on 2015's ranks? That would be the team's "Beast Mode" running back Marshawn Lynch, who appeared at No. 14 a year ago. Expect to hear Lynch's name called when the network's countdown concludes next Wednesday with players ranked Nos. 10-1.
