Makes the switch from college quarterback to tight end in Seattle. A four-year quarterback for the Longhorns who played in 41 career games with 14 starts (6-8), he finished his career ranked 13th on the UT career passing yards list (3,038), sixth in school history among quarterbacks with 967 rushing yards and third in rushing touchdowns among quarterbacks (24). His three 300-yard passing games are sixth-most in school history. Swoopes enrolled at Texas in spring of 2013, became the starter early in 2014 and then became a reserve with his feature package, called the “18-wheeler,” early in the 2015 season. For his career, he was 281 for 499 for 3,038 yards with 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions and rushed 256 times for 966 yards and 24 touchdowns. Prepped at Whitewright High where he was a four-year starter, includ-ing three at quarterback. Rated No. 4 overall and the No. 2 quarterback in the nation by MaxPreps, selected No. 88 overall on PrepStar Magazine’s Dream Team and the No. 6 quarterback in the nation, ranked the No. 6 quarterback in the nation by and tabbed the No. 13 quarterback in the nation by and 247Sports. Rushed for 5,341 yards and 73 touchdowns while passing for 3,850 yards and 41 touchdowns during his career. Named honorable mention 2A All-State by the Associated Press as a senior. Also played guard in basketball, outfield in baseball and participated in track and field in high school; competing in the long jump, triple jump, 4x400m, 4x200m, 4x100m and shot put.
