COLLEGE: In four seasons, Griffin played in 46 career games and totaled 125 tackles, 36 passes defended and seven interceptions. He also ran two picks back for touchdowns and blocked one kick as a Knight.
Senior: Named Second Team all‐conference by The American. Grabbed a team‐high four inter-ceptions. Broke up a team‐best 15 passes. Pass break‐ups combined with interceptions totaled 19 passes defended, which ranked No. 5 in the nation and No. 1 in The American Athletic Conference. Four interceptions ranked No. 31 in the nation and No. 5 in the conference. Racked up 50 tackles, including three tackles for loss.
Junior: Racked up 50 tackles with two intercep-tions and 13 break‐ups for 15 overall passes defended in 12 games played with 11 starts (two at safety and nine at cornerback). Returned his two interceptions for 102 yards and a touch-down. Broke up two passes and ran back an interception 81 yards for a touchdown against Temple (10/17). Ended the year with three tackles in each of the final three games, highlighted by two break‐ups against Tulsa and one vs. USF.
Sophomore: Posted 17 tackles including 13 solo, and one interception on the year. Hauled in his first career interception vs. SMU (11/22) in the fourth quarter.
Freshman: Participated in eight games with one start at Temple. Collected eight tackles and a break‐up on the year. Notched first career solo tackle at FIU (9/6). Made his first career start at Temple (11/16), making one assisted stop and breaking up a pass.
Coached by Cory Moore at Lakewood, which advanced to the 2012 5A regional semifinals. Received three stars from Rivals and ESPN. Ranked as the No. 57 cornerback in the nation by Rivals, and No. 104 by ESPN. Earned a spot on the 2012 class 5A all‐state first team. Recorded three interceptions with 44 tackles, 12 break‐ups, three forced fumbles and scored five touchdowns for the Lakewood Spartans in 2012. Amassed 48 tackles with three interceptions, one touchdown, four forced fumbles and eight break‐ups in 2011. Two‐time selection to the all‐county team. With twin brother Shaquem, started their own track club in St. Petersburg. Born in St. Petersburg, Fla. Nickname is Quill (pronounced “Keel”). Parents are Terry and Tangie Griffin, and was born a minute before twin brother Shaquem, who he played with at UCF.
