Drafted with the 32nd pick in the second round (64th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Fourth tackle chosen in the second round in club history (Last: Todd Weiner, 1998). Highest player drafted out of Missouri and only the second player drafted out of Missouri in club history (Last: Tony Davis, 1985).
NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
COLLEGE: Started 36 of the 49 games that he appeared in for Missouri, starting 30 of those contests at left tackle and six 2012 games on the right side. Credited with 35 touchdown-resulting blocks, adding 253 knockdowns as a starter. As a senior, was an Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection received second-team honors from the league’s coaches. Started all 14 games at left tackle with career-bests of 14 touchdown-resulting blocks and 103 knockdowns, playing a major role in the rushing attack establishing a school season-record with 3,330 yards, topping the old mark of 3,230 yards by the 1942 team. Started nine games as a junior and received the team’s Underclassman Leadership Award. Had three starting assignments at left tackle around six more starts at right tackle. As a sophomore, started all 13 games at left tackle for the Tigers and helped an explosive offense generate 6,182 yards, ranking 12th in the nation with an average of 475.54 yards per game. Was an academic All-Big 12 Conference second-team choice as a freshman. Appeared in all 13 games to earn his first varsity letter. Performed at the key reserve at both offensive guard positions.
PERSONAL: Attended Lebanon (Mo.) High School. Played on both sides of the line of scrimmage during his prep career, concentrating at left tackle on offense. His senior campaign resulted in a regional championship and won a state playoff game for only the second time in school history. Earned first-team All-State, All-District and All-Conference honors as a senior. Allowed only one sack in 2008 in 434 pass attempts. Also excelled in wrestling and track at Lebanon High. Won the Class IV Missouri state heavyweight championship as a senior in 2009, going a perfect 45-0 on the schedule. Graduated from the University of Missouri’s School of Education.
