Seahawks And Senior Defensive Assistant Travis Jones Mutually Part Ways

After five seasons in Seattle, senior defensive assistant Travis Jones and the Seahawks have agreed to mutually part ways.

The Seahawks and senior defensive assistant Travis Jones have agreed to mutually part ways, ending Jones' five-year tenure with Seattle.

Jones joined the Seahawks coaching staff as the defensive line coach in 2013 following five seasons in New Orleans, and in his first year with the Seahawks, he helped shape a defense that led the league in total defense, scoring defense, pass defense and takeaways on the way to a Super Bowl title.

The Seahawks again led the NFL in scoring defense and total defense in 2014, and in scoring defense in 2015. Prior to the 2017 season, Jones transitioned into his role of senior defensive assistant after four seasons as defensive line coach.
