Seahawks Place FB Tre Madden On Injured Reserve, Promote LB Josh Forrest Off Practice Squad
The Seahawks made a roster move Tuesday, placing fullback Tre Madden on injured reserve, the result of a calf injury sustained in Sunday’s loss to Washington. Linebacker Josh Forrest was promoted off of the practice squad to take Madden’s spot on the roster.
Forrest, who is 6-foot-3, 249 pounds, was a sixth-round pick out of Kentucky in 2016 and spent his rookie season on the Los Angeles Rams’ active roster before landing on injured reserve in November. Forrest appeared in 10 games for the Rams, starting four, and recorded nine tackles and a pass defensed. Forrest was waived/injured by the Rams prior to the start of the season and later released, and signed to Seattle’s practice squad last month.
Madden, 24, won Seattle’s fullback job out of training camp, and appeared in Seattle’s first eight games, starting three. His first career catch went for a 66-yard gain in Seattle’s Week 8 win over Houston, and Madden also emerged this season as one of Seattle’s top special teams players, recording six tackles, which is tied for second most on the team.
The Seahawks also signed offensive tackle Isaiah Battle to their practice squad. Battle spent the first eight weeks of the season on Seattle’s 53-man roster after being acquired in a trade with Kansas City, but was waived in order to make room on the roster for Duane Brown.Read
