Wednesday Practice Report: 11 Players Sidelined For Seahawks

A closer look at Wednesday's practice report for the Seahawks and Buccaneers before the two teams meet in Week 12 at Tampa Bay.

The Seahawks started the practice week with 11 players on the sideline, including starting cornerbacks DeShawn Shead (hamstring) and Richard Sherman (ankle), free safety Earl Thomas (hamstring), center Justin Britt (ankle), and tight end Jimmy Graham (knee).

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll provided updates on several injured Seahawks players earlier Wednesday, noting it's "going to be hard" for Shead and Thomas to play this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Graham, who had his knee surgically repaired late last year after tearing his patellar tendon, also sat out to start the practice week last week, so it's likely Wednesday was used as a rest day for the veteran tight end who has yet to miss a game this year. Injuries to Britt and Sherman, meanwhile, weren't mentioned when Carroll met with the media on Wednesday. More on the pair's status should become available as Seattle practices on Thursday and Friday, when Carroll will again address the press to provide personnel updates.

Also sitting out for Seattle on Wednesday were defensive end Michael Bennett (knee), who Carroll said "looks more like he'll be ready to go next week," running backs C.J. Prosise (hamstring) and Troymaine Pope (ankle), who were both injured in this past weekend's win against the Philadelphia Eagles, linebacker Brock Coyle (foot), who "should have a good chance to play" this week according to Carroll, as well as receiver Tanner McEvoy (toe) and defensive end Damontre Moore (foot).

The Buccaneers boast a much lighter injury list to open the week, with cornerback Brent Grimes (quadriceps) and center Evan Smith (knee) being the only players who did not participate in practice. Running back Jacquizz Rodgers (foot), who's missed Tampa Bay's past three games, returned to practice in limited fashion on Wednesday, his first work since Week 8.
