Seattle Seahawks Agree to Terms With Cornerback Brandon Browner

After spending the past two seasons outside of Seattle, cornerback Brandon Browner, a starter for the Seahawks from 2011-13, returns to the 'Legion of Boom'

A member of the original "Legion of Boom" is coming back to Seattle.

Cornerback Brandon Browner, a starter for the Seahawks from 2011 to 2013, agreed to terms on a contract with Seattle Sunday.

Browner, 31, originally signed with the Seahawks in 2011 after establishing himself as an All-Star in the Canadian Football League, and ended up winning a starting job in training camp that year. In three seasons with the Seahawks, Browner had 10 interceptions, three forced fumbles and 39 passes defensed, and earned Pro Bowl honors in 2011.

Just as important as any numbers was Browner's physical style that played a role in Seattle's defense forming an identity as one of the best and most intimidating units in the NFL. Along with cornerback Richard Sherman and safeties Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas, the 6-foot-4, 221-pound Browner was a part of the secondary that first earned the "Legion of Boom" nickname in 2012.

After helping the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl title in 2013, Browner signed with New England in free agency, winning another Super Bowl with the Patriots the following season. Browner then signed with New Orleans and recently revealed he played through a torn MCL last year. He made it known last summer at Sherman's celebrity softball game that he hoped to someday return to the Seahawks.

Browner is the second player from Seattle's Super Bowl XLVIII-winning defense to return this offseason following the signing of defensive end Chris Clemons earlier this month.
