Trent Kirchner enters his 27th season in the NFL and his seventh as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Seattle Seahawks, following five seasons (2015–2019) as Co-Director of Player Personnel and two seasons (2013–2014) as Pro Personnel Director. In his current role, he oversees both college scouting and pro personnel, directing all aspects of roster construction and player acquisition. Kirchner has been a key figure in one of the NFL's most consistent and competitive organizations over the past decade. Since joining Seattle in 2010, the Seahawks have appeared in three Super Bowls, winning two, while sustaining success across multiple roster cycles. That performance is reflected in both results and talent acquisition, with approximately 80 Pro Bowl selections produced during that span. Across his NFL career, Kirchner has been part of organizations that have reached the playoffs in 14 of 26 seasons, with four Super Bowl appearances and two championships. His background includes multiple championship runs, including a Super Bowl appearance with Carolina and sustained success in Seattle. Kirchner has played a central role in maintaining roster competitiveness through constant evolution—navigating player transitions, contract cycles, and shifting team identity without a full rebuild, while maintaining a consistent standard of contention. He joined the Seahawks on February 5, 2010, as Assistant Director of Pro Personnel. Prior to Seattle, Kirchner spent eight seasons as a pro scout with the Carolina Panthers, contributing to a Super Bowl XXXVIII appearance, two conference championship appearances, and two division titles, including a rapid turnaround from a 1–15 record to Super Bowl contention. Kirchner also served as college scouting coordinator for Washington and began his NFL career as a Seahawks intern, splitting time between public relations and college scouting after volunteering at the NFL Scouting Combine. A native of Minnesota, he graduated from St. John's University (Minn.) with a degree in business management, where he played quarterback. He and his wife, Jessica, have two sons, Carter and Landon.
