Ed Goines is entering his 10th season with the Seahawks in 2023. As Chief Legal Officer, Goines oversees the corporate legal affairs and government relations strategy and policies for the Seahawks and First & Goal Inc./Lumen Field. Goines works closely with the organization's business partners and was instrumental in securing an agreement with Lumen Technologies for renaming the stadium to Lumen Field (formerly CenturyLink Field). Goines works with local, state, and federal government leaders and public health officials across a range of significant matters. Prior to his work with the Seahawks, Goines was Assistant Chief Counsel for The Walt Disney Company. Before Disney, he served as General Counsel and Vice President of Business Affairs for the San Francisco 49ers. His work in the entertainment and sports fields also includes serving as in-house legal counsel for Major League Soccer, Ticketmaster, and Mattel. Goines began his law career as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Baker & Hostetler. A graduate of University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 1992, he obtained a bachelor's degree from Stanford University in 1988. Goines was born and raised in Hot Springs, Ark.
