Week 5 NFL High School 2008 Coach of the Week Award

Southridge High School's Andy Troxel and Montesano High School's Terry Jensen are the week five Seattle Seahawks/NFL High School Coach of the Week award winners for the state of Washington.

Head Coach Andy Troxel led the Southridge Suns to a 42-0 victory over Davis High School during a 3A/4A Big Nine Columbia Conference match-up on October 3. The victory improved the Suns record to 5-0 and moved the SHS into sole position of first place in the league standings.

Coach Terry Jense's Montesano Bulldogs scored 42 points and shut out Rainier High School on October 3. The 5-0 Bulldogs have out scored their last three opponents a combined 130-24. The Bulldogs look posed to make the playoffs with only four 1A Southwest League games left, two played at home.

The Seattle Seahawks High School Coach of the Week award winners in Washington State are selected by members of the Washington State Football Coaches Association. Recipients of the award receive a $500 donation for their football program from the Seattle Seahawks and a $100 savings bond from Sterling Savings Bank. At the conclusion of the high school football season one coach will be selected as the NFL High School Coach of the Year for the state of Washington. The NFL High School Coach of the Year receives a $2,000 grant.
