'Seahawks Superlatives: Jimmy Fallon' Voted Content of the Year at NFL Digital Media Summit

At the 2016 NFL Digital Media Summit, the 'Seahawks Superlatives' response video to Jimmy Fallon's recurring Tonight Show segment was voted 'Content of the Year' by representatives from the NFL and its 32 clubs.

At the 2016 NFL Digital Media Summit in Nashville this past week, Seahawks.com's Seahawks Superlatives: Jimmy Fallon video was voted 'Content of the Year' for the 2015 season.

The original feature, shot and edited by Seahawks digital media video manager Brian Pan and digital media video intern Baylee Sinner, was the team's response to late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon's recurring NFL Superlatives segment, which NBC's The Tonight Show airs each week in advance of *Sunday Night Football *by handing out yearbook-style awards to players of the two NFL teams competing in that week's primetime matchup.

Seahawks punter Jon Ryan, defensive end Michael Bennett, quarterback Russell Wilson, former right guard J.R. Sweezy, and since-retired running back Marshawn Lynch have been prime targets of Fallon's superlatives show over the years. So when approached this past season about an opportunity to get Fallon back before the team's Week 10 SNF matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, the group was all in.

The result was the hilarious video embedded for you above, in which Ryan, Bennett, Sweezy, Wilson, and Lynch dish superlatives Fallon's way using cheesy photos of the star comedian. Fallon played parts of the video the very next night on his own show, and it was picked up by large media outlets like ESPN, Bleacher Report, Rolling Stone, Yahoo! Sports, FOX Sports, TSN, Sunday Night Football, Sports Illustrated, New York Daily, New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, CBS Sports, and Complex Magazine.

The Seahawks' superlatives segment was up against stiff competition from four other clubs at this year's digital summit.

The Tennessee Titans recorded a heartfelt message from Marcus Mariota to a three-year-old Duck fan who was upset to learn the star quarterback had left Oregon. The Chargers followed Jahleel Addae around at his first comic-con event in a piece that connected the team to the San Diego community. Ahead of their 2015 game in England, the New York Jets quizzed their players on common British sayings. And the Kansas City Chiefs ran a social campaign that brought Chiefs Kingdom to the United Kingdom for their 2015 international series game. Each content piece performed well with each team's respective fanbase, so be sure to check them out if you haven't already.

But in the end it was Seahawks.com's superlatives video that wound up receiving more than 50 percent of the ballots for 'Content of the Year,' tallies that came via live-vote from the hundreds of individuals in attendance representing the NFL and each of the League's 32 teams.

On top of Pan and Sinner, Seahawks employees who collaborated on the superlatives project include director of digital media Kenton Olson, assistant director of digital media Huy Nguyen, digital content coordinator Tony Drovetto, digital media reporter John Boyle, social media producer Dom Lewis, digital media production coordinator Danita Gill, digital media intern Jessica Shusko, digital media video intern Taylor Cunningham, and director of football communications Lane Gammel.
